Privacy Policy
In short
- Your logs never leave your computer. Scans, traced curves, LogPlot Studio wells and exports are processed in your browser and saved to a folder you choose or to files you download.
- We keep only what is needed to run your account and payments: your email and name, your purchases, and a short record of which logs used your allowance.
- We do not sell your information, show ads or use tracking or advertising cookies.
1. What we do not collect
Log Digitize does not upload or store your scanned logs, images, traced curves, depth calibrations, formation tops, LogPlot Studio wells, correlation charts or exported files. All of this is processed in your browser and saved on your own computer.
2. What we collect
| Information | Details |
|---|---|
| Account | Email address, name (if you give one), password (stored only as a secure hash by our sign-in provider), whether your email is verified, and when you last signed in. If you sign in with Google or Microsoft, we receive your name and email from them. |
| Log allowance | For each log counted against your allowance: a fingerprint of the original file (a one-way SHA-256 code that cannot be turned back into the file), the well or file name shown in the workspace, and the date. This is how repeat exports of the same log stay free. |
| Purchases | Plan, amount, currency, date, status, access period and Stripe reference numbers. Card details are entered on Stripe's page; we never see or store your card number. |
| Contact and feedback messages | Your name, email, subject and message (including any rating and comments sent through the Feedback topic), plus a one-way code made from your IP address that is used only to limit spam (5 messages per hour). |
| Technical data | Our hosting provider processes standard request information such as IP address, browser type and the page requested, to deliver the website and protect it from abuse. |
3. Why we use it
- To create and secure your account and let you sign in (to provide the service you asked for).
- To count logs, apply your plan and process payments and refunds (to perform our agreement with you).
- To answer your messages and send essential service emails such as email verification, password reset and receipts.
- To keep records required for tax and accounting (legal obligation), and to prevent fraud and abuse (legitimate interest).
We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell or rent it to anyone.
4. Service providers
We use these providers to run Log Digitize. Each processes information only as needed for its service:
| Provider | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Cloudflare | Hosting, the website's database (account allowance, purchase and message records) and security. |
| Supabase | Account sign-in, passwords and email verification. |
| Stripe | Payments, receipts, refunds and the customer portal. See Stripe's privacy policy. |
| Resend | Delivering contact-form messages to us by email. |
| Google / GitHub | Only if you choose to sign in with them. |
We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights and safety of our users or of Log Digitize.
5. Cookies and browser storage
- Sign-in cookies keep you signed in. They are essential and are not used for tracking.
- Browser storage on your device keeps your preferences (for example, Studio layouts, saved top names and guide progress), the permission to use the folder you chose for saving, and, only while a log is unsaved and no folder is chosen, a temporary recovery copy that is removed automatically. This information stays in your browser and is not sent to us. You can clear it in your browser settings.
- We use no advertising or third-party analytics cookies.
6. How long we keep it
- Account and allowance records: while your account exists. When you ask us to delete your account, we delete them within 30 days.
- Purchase records: as long as needed for tax and accounting law, normally up to 7 years, even after the account is deleted.
- Contact and feedback messages: until we have dealt with them and no longer need them; we review and delete old messages regularly.
7. Your choices and rights
You can ask us to show you the information we hold about you, correct it, delete your account, or give you a copy. Depending on where you live (for example, in the European Union, the United Kingdom or California), you may also have the right to object to or restrict some uses and to complain to a data-protection authority. To make a request, use the contact page from the email address of your account. We will answer within 30 days. You can see your receipts and manage any subscription under Account → Manage subscription & receipts.
8. Security
Connections use HTTPS. Passwords are handled by our sign-in provider and never stored by us in readable form. Payment details are handled by Stripe. Administrative access is limited to the operator. No online service is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information, and we will notify you if a breach affects it as the law requires.
9. International transfers
Log Digitize is operated from the United States, and our providers may process information in the United States and other countries. When information is transferred from your country, we rely on the providers' safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses.
10. Children
Log Digitize is a professional tool for adults and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
11. Changes
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the latest version. For important changes we will tell you on the website or by email.
